Dimitri Tikovoi

Dimitri Tikovoi is a French record producer and DJ who has worked with bands such as Placebo, The Horrors, John Cale (The Velvet Underground), Hope Of The States, Goldfrapp, etc.

Before in left France in 1998 he produced Peter Kingsbery's third solo album as well as Guesch Patti's album Blonde for which he wrote songs, played different instruments (drums, percussions, electric guitar and bass) and was as well responsible for the programming. In 2002, Tikovoi released an album under the name "Trash Palace" (Positions, featuring Brian Molko, John Cale, Asia Argento and others).

Earlier in his U.K career he worked on some Placebo remixes and Placebo's cover of Kate Bush's "Running Up that Hill" (found on the special edition of Placebo's 2003 album Sleeping with Ghosts), and impressed the band so much that they asked him to produce their 5th album Meds who went on to sale over a million copies worldwide.

He has since worked with Sophie Ellis-Bextor, The Horrors, The Dykeenies, Ed Harcourt and numerous U.K based acts.

In parallel Dimitri has been writing for movies such as the award-winning (Sundance 2008) movie by Samuel Benchetrit "I Always Wanted To Be A Gangster" and Kevin McDonald movie "State Of Play".

He is also currently working on Girls Aloud's Nicola Roberts' solo album both as co-writer and producer, as well as a new album by Sophie Ellis-Bextor, The Irrepressibles, Trash Palace, Sohodolls and up and coming young artist Charli XcX.
